Melvin Morris, 76, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at this home.

A resident of Granville County, he was the son of the late Roney and Myrtle Bowling Morris. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and he was retired from Mt. Hope Finishing Company and also farmed most of his life.

Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, July 24, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church by Rev. Keith Williams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Shearylon Morris of the home, a son, Jason M. Morris of the home, four sisters; Elaine Bently, Joyce Deal, Gladys Smith and Marie Bowes, two brothers; Roy Morris and Joe Lewis.

Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Service from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M. at the Church and at other times the home.
